Grigg Lewis Foundation, Inc Offers Funding for 2008 Workership Program
***
Summer Employment Opportunities for College & College Bound Youth Residing in Eastern Niagara County
Thirty-one summer 2008 jobs are awaiting eastern Niagara County college students who are interested in working at local not-for-profit agencies. The jobs are funded by the Grigg Lewis Foundation’s Workership Program, now in its eighth year. Listings of the positions available and phone numbers for applications are available at the third floor Reference Desk of the Lockport Public Library and at the Eastern Niagara United Way office in Lockview Plaza, and at www.grigglewis.org.
Students interested in applying for these positions must meet the following qualifications: be a college student who will be returning to his or her studies in the fall of 2008 or a high school graduate who has been accepted at an accredited college for fall 2008. The student must be a resident of eastern Niagara County, which is the primary focus for the Grigg Lewis Foundation. Applications are accepted only by the not-for-profit agencies involved. The Foundation does not accept or forward applications nor does it take a role in selecting employees. Family members of an employee or a board member of a sponsored not-for-profit are not eligible to apply at that agency.
The primary focus of the workership opportunities is to provide financial assistance to area college students; to allow local institutions to expand their summer programming and to benefit the entire community by the expanded and improved programs of the agencies.
Qualifying students, living in Eastern Niagara County, should apply ONLY with the sponsoring agency.
